Russell Gold 
Russell established Gold Assessors in 1989. Whilst he is London based, Russell works nationally throughout the United Kingdom where he has gained a reputation as a highly experienced and successful Loss Assessor who deals in High Net Worth and Commercial losses. With over 30 years’ experience, Russell is regarded by other insurance professionals as the leading Insurance Loss Assessor in the United Kingdom. Russell has worked on many varied insurance claims some of which required technical knowledge beyond that of a general loss assessor. Such instructions include the high profile and sensitive incident relating to the contamination from polonium in 2006 when he negotiated a settlement for his Client, a top London hotel. 
He also successfully dealt with many major insurance incidents claims relating to the IRA bombings in London in the early 1990s together with claims resulting from the Buncefield explosion of 2005 and more recently the floods affecting Cumbria in 2009. Russell has also dealt with many Clients with commercial properties based throughout Europe. 
William B Merritt - ANZIIF (Senior Associate) 
William has been working with Gold Assessors for over 10 years and he is described by Russell as his right hand man. He works with Russell from their London based office but also works both nationally and internationally on major loss claims and investigations. His area of expertise includes Fire Origin & Cause Investigation, Loss Adjusting, Loss Assessing and Catastrophe & Perils Loss Adjusting, the latter of which takes him to numerous countries, including the Caribbean and South Pacific. 
William is a very experienced Forensic Loss Adjuster with over 35 years experience in loss adjusting and insurance investigation. It is his extensive knowledge of Insurance Law and the interpretation of Insurance Policies that sets William apart from other loss assessors. He has had unparalleled success with overturning claims that have been declined by Insurance Companies, either by directly challenging their decisions or preparing a case to present to the Insurance Ombudsman Service. 
Ivor Spector, BSc 
At the beginning of the 1980’s Ivor left practice and joined a company specialising in the preparation and negotiation of commercial claims, which included acting for companies such as GEC. He has also acted for Rolls Royce, and provided expert evidence in a variety of legal actions. He has extensive experience of defining the quantum of losses, acquired across a range of Business Interruption cases. 
He continued this work when he became a director of Corporate Claims International Limited (CCI) on the formation of that company in 1993. He remained with CCI until 2006 when he left to set up his own practice as a claims specialist. 
Ivor is a member of the Compulsory Purchases Association, and his work has included compensation claims for disturbance as a result of Compulsory Purchase Orders. In this field he has represented a variety of clients affected by such schemes as the Channel Tunnel Rail Scheme, The Arsenal Football Club Redevelopment, a Plymouth City Centre Redevelopment Scheme, and the 2012 Olympics. 
Since the beginning of the 1990’s there have been four major oil spills in European waters. Following these incidents Ivor has acted for hundreds of businesses in the fishing, aquaculture and tourism industries in the UK, France and Spain with their claims against the International Oil producers Compensation fund.
